Last week the World Bank held the Understanding Risk Finance Pacific forum at Warwick Le Lagon Resort. It was great to see local products being used as gifts for all attendees.
There were over 150 international delegates at the event, as well as many attendees from Vanuatu who also attended this one-week event.

A big thank you to our partners in the ‘Skills for Handicraft’ sector, Malampa and Sanma Skills Centres for facilitating this opportunity through their producers for Aelen Baskets and Calico Lanyards. This achievement supports the Handicraft Sector Action Plan 2018-2020, particularly with more emphasis on rural economic growth and women’s economic empowerment.

This is a sound example of how we can use local products to support tourism/business events and create economic opportunities for our people.
