Twenty-one students have the opportunity to gain valuable plumbing skills after the Vanuatu Qualifications Authority (VQA)-accredited Certificate II in Plumbing course was launched earlier this month on Ambae Island, Penama province in Vanuatu.
The delivery of the training is made possible through a partnership between the Torgil Rural Training Centre under the Anglican Church of Melanesia Vocational Education and Training Schools (ACOMVETS) and the Department of Water and Resources (DoWR) with support from the Australian Government through the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) and the Vanuatu Skills Partnership. It is the first time an accredited plumbing training is made available on Ambae.
This accredited training follows the DoWR’s community plumbing training that was delivered earlier to upskill and address plumbing needs on the island.
