The AusAID funded TVET Sector Strengthening Program has supported VIT to conduct the first Train the Trainer workshop conducted in Malampa Province.

VIT and the TVET Sector Strengthening Program conducted the training at the Malampa TVET Centre located on Malakula from the 16th of November to the 4th of December, helping eighteen local trainers attain the certification required to provide quality, accredited training.

Workshop participants who completed the training will be able to support local communities develop a range of skills including carpentry and joinery, motor mechanics, home care, a variety of agricultural production from cocoa, rice and vanilla, computing, catering and tourism.

The training was one of the priority needs identified by the Province due to the unavailability of registered providers able to provide training to communities in the Province.
